US Trade Agreement with India Prioritises American Interests, Says Official
US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau stated that the ongoing trade agreement with India will prioritise American interests. Speaking at the Raisina Dialogue, he noted that the US aims to avoid past mistakes made with China. Landau highlighted India's significant rise as the world's most populous country, emphasising the potential for a mutually beneficial partnership. He reiterated that the alliance is based on collective gain rather than charity, and both nations can achieve 'win-win situations'. The US and India are working towards a comprehensive Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA), which was initiated by President Trump and Prime Minister Modi.
