Wing Commander Namansh Syal Dies in Tejas Jet Crash at Dubai Airshow

Wing Commander Namansh Syal, 34, of the Indian Air Force, died in a crash involving a Tejas fighter jet during a practice sortie at the Dubai Airshow on Friday. The incident occurred while Syal was performing aerobatic maneuvers. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the aircraft lose altitude before crashing and exploding. This marks the second crash of the Tejas since its induction into the IAF in July 2016. The Indian Air Force has announced a court of inquiry to investigate the cause of the accident. Syal is survived by his wife, an IAF officer, and their six-year-old daughter. His family was visiting him in Hyderabad at the time of the tragedy. The crash has prompted widespread grief across India, particularly in his hometown of Nagrota Bagwan, Himachal Pradesh.
