Trump Appoints Stephen Miller as New White House Chief of Staff
US President Donald Trump announced Stephen Miller will replace Susie Wiles as White House chief of staff, effective November 9, 2026. This change follows the Republican Party's loss in the midterm elections. Miller, currently the deputy chief of staff, is known for his role in shaping the administration's immigration policies and has been a long-time advisor to Trump. Wiles, the first woman to hold the chief of staff position, has been credited with leading Trump's 2024 campaign. The staff reshuffle comes as Democrats are expected to hold at least 54 seats in the Senate, raising concerns about Trump's future appointments and policies amid ongoing investigations into his administration.
