Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit appointed new IAF chief
Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit has been appointed as the new chief of the Indian Air Force, set to take over on October 31. With nearly four decades of service, he has logged over 3,500 flying hours on various aircraft, including the Mirage-2000 and Tejas. Dixit previously served as vice chief of the air staff and has held several key operational and staff positions, including air officer commanding-in-chief of Central Air Command. He has been involved in significant operations such as Operation Safed Sagar and Cope India. Dixit has received multiple awards for his service, including the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, which he will be awarded in 2026. His term as air chief marshal will last until December 31, 2028.
