Wayanad landslide death toll rises to seven; search continues
On Thursday, heavy monsoon rain in the Delhi-NCR region led to significant disruptions, including multiple fatalities and severe waterlogging. An orange alert was issued for areas such as Ghaziabad, Noida, Meerut, and Gurugram. Tragically, a seven-year-old boy drowned in a flooded vacant plot in Delhi's Samaypur Badli. The death toll from a residential building collapse in Rohini rose to three, with eight people initially trapped. Waterlogging affected several Noida sectors, complicating movement for pedestrians and two-wheeler riders. In Ghaziabad, a section of road collapsed, damaging parked vehicles, attributed to inadequate safety measures during construction. Authorities have deployed teams to manage the situation and clear waterlogged roads.
