India's Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh confirmed on Saturday that an agreement to supply BrahMos cruise missiles to Vietnam has been officially executed. The deal with Indonesia is in its final stages. Singh made these announcements during the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore. Vietnam becomes the second international customer for India's BrahMos missile technology, following the Philippines, which signed a purchase agreement worth approximately USD 375 million in 2022. The financial details of the contracts with Vietnam and Indonesia remain confidential. Singh noted that India is committed to strengthening defense ties with ASEAN countries, emphasizing the importance of trust in technology transfers. He also highlighted India's efforts to enhance its defense manufacturing capabilities and foster reliable alliances in the region amid evolving global defense dynamics.
