Severe Storms Cause Widespread Damage Across the United States

Powerful winds and reported tornadoes impacted communities in the United States on Saturday, with around 28 million people at risk of severe weather. More than 70,000 customers lost electricity, primarily in Illinois and Missouri. The National Weather Service indicated that the storms could bring additional threats, including hail and flash flooding. In Wisconsin, tornadoes caused significant damage, affecting at least 30 homes in Marion Township. Officials conducted door-to-door checks for safety. No fatalities were reported, but recovery efforts may take time in rural areas. Assessments of the destruction are expected over the weekend.
