US Identifies Last Two Soldiers Killed in Kuwait Drone Strike
On 4 March, the US Department of Defense named the last two soldiers killed in an Iranian drone strike at Shuaiba port, Kuwait, on 1 March. Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert M. Marzan, 54, and Maj. Jeffrey R. O'Brien, 45, were both assigned to the 103rd Sustainment Command. They were supporting 'Operation Epic Fury' during the attack. The Pentagon confirmed that Marzan was present at the scene, while O'Brien died during the unmanned aircraft system attack. This incident resulted in the deaths of six US servicemembers and several injuries. The drone strike followed a US-Israel operation that killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on 28 February, prompting retaliatory strikes from Iran against US military targets in the Gulf region.
