FAA Issues 60-Day Advisory for Flights Over Central America, Mexico

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a 60-day advisory on 15 January, warning airlines to exercise caution while flying over Central America and Mexico. This advisory is due to potential US military activities and risks of GPS interference in flight operations. Mexico's government stated that the advisory is precautionary and does not affect its airspace or airlines, applying only to US operators. The advisory also includes airspace over Colombia, Ecuador, and parts of the eastern Pacific Ocean. Tensions in US-Central America relations have escalated following the recent military action against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
