Two IAF Pilots Killed in Su-30MKI Crash in Assam
A Sukhoi-30MKI fighter aircraft crashed in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district, resulting in the deaths of two pilots, Squadron Leader Anuj and Flight Lieutenant Purvesh Duragkar. The Indian Air Force reported that the aircraft lost radar contact around 7.42pm on Thursday after taking off from Jorhat. Local residents heard a loud explosion, and search teams located the wreckage around 1am on Friday. The crash site is in a remote area, complicating recovery efforts. The Sukhoi-30MKI is a key component of the IAF’s fleet, with over 260 units in operation. An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
