US Peace Plan for Ukraine Favors Russia, Demands Major Concessions
A new 28-point US peace plan for Ukraine requires significant concessions from Ukraine, including surrendering the entire Donbas region. The plan, devised by US envoy Steve Witkoff, suggests Ukraine will not join NATO and must reduce its military from 900,000 to 600,000 personnel. While the proposal aims to end the ongoing conflict, experts have described it as heavily tilted in Russia's favour. Ukrainian Secretary Rustem Umerov has provided positive feedback on the plan, which was developed after discussions with senior Ukrainian officials. The plan also includes granting amnesty for wartime actions. US President Donald Trump stated that President Volodymyr Zelensky would need to approve the plan for peace to be achieved, with a response expected by next Thursday.
