The US enforced a naval blockade on 13 April, while oil prices dropped sharply, with Brent crude falling over 10% to below $89 a barrel. The specifics of any potential agreement remain unclear, echoing elements of the 2013 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action from which the US withdrew in 2018.
