Wing Commander Namansh Syal Dies in Tejas Crash at Dubai Air Show
Wing Commander Namansh Syal died in a Tejas fighter jet crash during the Dubai Air Show on Friday. The incident occurred around 3.40 pm IST when the aircraft nosedived during a low-altitude manoeuvre over Al Maktoum International Airport. Eyewitnesses reported that Syal appeared to attempt to avoid spectators before the crash. The Indian Air Force (IAF) has expressed condolences and described Syal as a dedicated pilot with exceptional skill. He is survived by his parents, wife, and six-year-old daughter. A court of enquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the accident. This marks the second Tejas crash in under two years, with the previous incident occurring in March 2024.
