CJI Advises Opposition to File Petition Ahead of Supreme Court March

Chief Justice of India Surya Kant has advised Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge to file a petition under Article 32 instead of submitting a memorandum. This guidance comes ahead of the INDIA alliance's planned march to the Supreme Court on Monday, where they aim to address concerns over alleged vote theft and irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision exercise. The opposition leaders are also seeking the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. CJI Surya Kant noted that similar issues are scheduled for a hearing on 13 October and declined a meeting request, citing judicial ethics. The leaders can file petitions physically on Monday between 10:30 am and 4:30 pm or through e-filing at any time.
