At least 21 dead in Spain train collision near Adamuz
Two high-speed trains collided near Adamuz, southern Spain, on January 18, resulting in at least 21 fatalities, according to the Interior Ministry. The incident occurred around 6:40 p.m. when an Iryo train from Malaga to Madrid derailed and struck an oncoming train. Emergency services reported 25 serious injuries, deploying five mobile intensive care units and numerous ambulances to the scene. All rail services between Madrid and Andalusia have been suspended, with disruptions expected to continue through at least Monday. Authorities are conducting rescue operations and investigating the cause of the derailments.
