21 Dead, 100 Injured in Southern Spain Train Collision
A train derailment and collision in Adamuz, southern Spain, resulted in at least 21 fatalities. The incident occurred around 7.45 pm local time, involving a high-speed train traveling from Málaga to Madrid and another train bound for Huelva. The rear carriages of the first train derailed and struck the second train, causing multiple carriages to leave the tracks. Hundreds of survivors were rescued as emergency crews worked in darkness. The Andalucía regional government established a medical post at the scene, and rail traffic between Madrid and several southern cities will be suspended on Monday. Spain has the world's second-longest high-speed rail network, according to the International Union of Railways.
