Indian Stock Markets Decline Amid US-Iran Negotiation Failure
Indian stock markets fell on Monday following unsuccessful US-Iran talks in Islamabad. The S&P BSE Sensex dropped 2.08% to 75,937.20 points at 9:15 am, while the NSE Nifty fell 1.92% to 23,589 points. By 12:27 pm, the Nifty was down 0.94% at 23,809.90 points, and the Sensex decreased 1.02% to 76,760.32 points. All 30 Sensex firms were trading lower, with major losses reported by HDFC Bank, IndiGo, and Reliance. The decline is attributed to increased uncertainty and rising crude oil prices, with Brent crude surging 7.33% to $102.2 per barrel. Analysts noted a risk-off sentiment across global markets due to the geopolitical tensions.
