Supreme Court Grants Bail to Businessman in Kashmir Terror Funding Case
The Supreme Court has granted bail to 72-year-old Naval Kishore Kapoor, who has been in custody for over eight years in a Kashmir terror funding case. Kapoor was arrested on July 26, 2018, and is accused of facilitating the transfer of ₹2.24 crore to support separatist and militant activities in Jammu and Kashmir. The court noted the delayed trial and Kapoor's advanced age as factors in its decision. The case involves allegations against several individuals, including Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, linked to raising funds for terrorism. Kapoor's bail is subject to conditions, allowing the prosecution to seek its recall if he attempts to delay proceedings.
