High Alert Issued for Republic Day Amid Terror Threats
Intelligence agencies have issued a terror threat alert for Republic Day on January 26, citing potential attacks from Khalistani and Bangladeshi outfits. Haryana, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan are on high alert. The report indicates that Punjab-based gangsters are collaborating with Khalistani elements and foreign handlers to disrupt internal security. In response, North District Police conducted four mock drills in early January at sensitive locations in North Delhi, including Red Fort and Chandni Chowk, to enhance preparedness against potential terror incidents. The Republic Day Parade will feature at least 30 tableaux celebrating India's cultural heritage and the 150th anniversary of the national song 'Vande Mataram.'
