Security Alert Issued Ahead of Republic Day Amid Terror Threats
Intelligence agencies have issued an alert regarding potential terror threats linked to Khalistani and Bangladesh-based outfits as Republic Day approaches on January 26. Punjab-based gangsters are reportedly acting as foot soldiers for these groups, with increased activity noted in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Security measures have been heightened in Delhi, particularly following the Red Fort blast that resulted in over a dozen fatalities. In preparation, North District Police conducted four mock drills at sensitive locations in North Delhi to assess security readiness. The Republic Day Parade will feature at least 30 tableaux showcasing India's cultural heritage and developmental achievements, under the themes of freedom and prosperity.
