India Sees Surge in Private Investment Across Key Sectors

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a revival in private investment in India, highlighting significant capital inflows into sectors such as renewable energy, semiconductors, and pharmaceuticals. She noted that many companies have improved their balance sheets and cleared debts, resulting in substantial cash reserves. The National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) has expanded from $2 trillion to over $4.5 trillion, providing a platform for investors to explore opportunities. Sitharaman also mentioned that India's civil aviation sector is growing at approximately 16%, with airlines expected to receive a new aircraft weekly until 2030. The government aims to attract long-term capital through initiatives like NaBFID and NIIF, while also addressing currency volatility through the Reserve Bank of India's measures.
