PM Modi to Meet Putin at SCO Summit in Kyrgyzstan
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin are scheduled to meet on August 31 during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Bishkek. This will be their 21st in-person meeting since 2014. Putin is expected to hold nine bilateral meetings at the summit, including one with Chinese President Xi Jinping before meeting Modi. The discussions will continue at the BRICS Summit in New Delhi on September 12-13. The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed the meeting, stating that the leaders will review the broader India-Russia bilateral relationship. Modi will visit Uzbekistan from August 29 to August 30 before attending the SCO Summit, which marks the 25th anniversary of the organisation, of which India has been a full member since 2017.
