PM Modi Reviews Infrastructure Projects, Emphasises Quality and Timeliness

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 53rd PRAGATI meeting on 25 August, focusing on six major infrastructure projects across nine states with a combined cost exceeding ₹30,000 crore. He expressed concerns over quality issues in construction, suggesting a possible need for a 'fourth-party audit' alongside the existing third-party audits. Modi highlighted that delays in projects not only escalate costs but also hinder benefits for citizens and the economy. He called for an integrated approach to project planning and execution, urging ministries and state governments to adopt modern technologies for quality assurance. Additionally, he reviewed initiatives under the Digital Agriculture Mission, advocating for the use of Artificial Intelligence in agricultural data management. Modi also addressed the need for enhanced public awareness campaigns to combat cyber fraud, particularly targeting vulnerable groups.
