Bomb Threats Force Diversions of 12 Flights Across Europe

On Thursday, bomb threats prompted at least 12 passenger aircraft to divert or make precautionary landings across Europe, leading to heightened security checks at multiple airports. Notable incidents included an Aer Lingus flight diverted to Evreux, a Finnair flight escorted by Italian fighter jets to Rome, and a LOT flight landing in Brussels after a security alert. Bulgaria reported three emergency landings, while four aircraft heading to Prague received threats involving possible explosives. Additionally, nearly 200 passengers were evacuated from a Wizz Air flight in Romania. These incidents follow similar threats earlier in the week that affected seven flights and a cruise ship, with no explosives found in either case. Authorities have not attributed responsibility for the threats, which coincide with concerns over potential hybrid attacks linked to Russia and Iran.
