Pakistan Deployed Spies to Locate S-400 During Operation Sindoor
During Operation Sindoor, Pakistan attempted to locate India's S-400 missile system using spies and sleeper cells, according to Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra. The S-400, a Russian-made air defence system, was crucial in countering missile threats from Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025. Mishra noted that Pakistan employed various tactics, including air intelligence and Electronic Warfare systems, to find the S-400s. The system can target multiple threats, including aircraft and missiles, at ranges up to 400 kilometers. India has acquired five S-400 systems, with the fifth expected to arrive in November.
