Pahalgam Attack: Three Pakistani Terrorists Neutralised After Months
On 22 April, three Pakistani nationals from Lashkar-e-Taiba, operating under 'The Resistance Front', attacked Hindu tourists in Pahalgam, resulting in 26 deaths. The attackers, identified as Faizal Jatt, Hamza Afghani, and Jibran, infiltrated Kashmir between 2022 and 2023. They were armed with sophisticated weapons and evaded capture for over three months before being neutralised on 28 July in Harwan forest. The incident highlighted significant failures in India's security response, with delayed local policing and inadequate intelligence despite prior awareness of infiltrated terrorists in the region. Experts stress the need for improved intelligence, stronger counter-insurgency measures, and a robust ground response to prevent future attacks. The ongoing threat from Pakistan-based terror groups remains a critical concern for India's security architecture.
