NIA Conducts Searches in Four States Over Arms Smuggling Case
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, and Maharashtra on May 29, 2026, related to an arms and explosives smuggling case. The operation followed the arrest of a man in February in Amritsar, Punjab, who was found with an improvised explosive device (IED), a foreign-made pistol, and live cartridges. The NIA's investigation indicates that he was part of a cross-border smuggling syndicate planning IED attacks in Punjab, Delhi, and other regions of India. Several digital devices were seized during the operation.
