Three Indian Nationals Killed in Iranian Attacks on Merchant Vessels

Three Indian nationals died in Iranian attacks on two merchant vessels off the coast of Oman. One victim, 25-year-old Dixit Solanki from Mumbai, was aboard the MKD Vyom when it was struck by a drone boat approximately 52 nautical miles from Muscat. The vessel, carrying 26 crew members, was en route to Port Sultan Qaboos. The Indian embassy in Oman confirmed the deaths and is coordinating with local authorities for repatriation. The attacks mark a significant escalation in regional tensions, occurring after retaliatory strikes by Iran following a joint US-Israel operation. Two other Indian nationals were killed in a separate incident involving the Palau-flagged tanker Skylight near Oman's Musandam peninsula.
