Building Collapse in Delhi Leaves Several Feared Trapped Under Debris
A four-storey building in Saidulajab, Delhi, collapsed on Saturday night, resulting in two fatalities and at least eight injuries. The structure housed a mess and paying guest accommodation near Saket Metro Station. Rescue operations, involving multiple agencies, have successfully extricated nine individuals from the debris. Concerns remain that 100 to 150 people may still be trapped under the rubble. Witnesses reported hearing screams from beneath the collapsed building, which was reportedly undergoing construction work at the time. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that all resources are being mobilised for the rescue efforts, while the exact cause of the collapse is still under investigation.
