Canada's PM Carney Highlights G20 Summit Achievements Without US Participation
Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney stated that the G20 summit included nations representing three-quarters of the world’s population, two-thirds of global GDP, and three-quarters of global trade, despite the absence of the United States. Carney emphasized the significance of the consensus reached at the meeting held in Johannesburg. He noted Canada is pursuing new investments and partnerships, including a $70 billion commitment from the UAE. Carney plans to meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to improve bilateral relations, which have been strained following allegations involving Indian agents in a Canadian citizen's assassination. Carney asserted that he will not allow his agenda to be influenced by US President Donald Trump.
