Ukraine Forms Air Defence Coalition Amid Increased Russian Attacks
Ukraine and nine European countries have launched an air defence coalition to counter Russian missile threats, following a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv. The coalition, named the Integrated Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition, aims to develop a new anti-ballistic missile system as an alternative to the US Patriot system. Recent weeks have seen an escalation in Russian attacks, with at least nine people killed in incidents across Ukraine and Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for more weapons and support from allies. The coalition's discussions took place during a meeting in Paris, where leaders emphasised the need for a collective approach to missile defence in Europe.
