US Judge Allows Trump's Voter List Order Amid Legal Challenges

A federal judge has declined to block President Donald Trump’s executive order to create a nationwide voter list and limit mail-in voting. US District Judge Carl Nichols dismissed a request from Democratic groups and civil rights organisations to pause the order, stating it was premature as the directive has not yet been implemented. The ruling permits further legal challenges once the order is enacted. Trump issued the order in March following a failed voting overhaul proposal in Congress. Critics have raised concerns about potential misuse and confusion in the voting process. Primary elections are ongoing, and changes to voting rules are not expected to affect them. Another lawsuit against the directive is being heard in Boston.
