JDU Issues Whip for MPs Ahead of Special Parliament Session

The Janata Dal United (JDU) has issued a three-line whip for its MPs, directing them to attend the special Parliament session from April 16 to 18. The party, part of the National Democratic Alliance, has 12 MPs in the Lok Sabha and four in the Rajya Sabha. The session will focus on amendments to the Women's Reservation Bill, which aims to provide 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. The government plans to introduce changes to streamline the bill's implementation, potentially increasing Lok Sabha seats from 543 to around 816, with one-third reserved for women. The BJP has also issued a similar directive for its MPs to ensure attendance during the session.
