India Objects to Misrepresentation of Jammu and Kashmir at Bangladesh Seminar
India raised concerns over a map shown at a seminar in Dhaka that depicted Jammu and Kashmir as part of Pakistan. Second secretary Puja Jha from the Indian High Commission interrupted the presentation, stating that the map was 'factually incorrect' and reaffirmed that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. The objection occurred during a foreign policy seminar attended by Bangladesh's State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shama Obaed. Following the objection, ambassador Tariq Karim clarified that the map was for 'representational purposes only' and did not reflect actual boundaries. The seminar focused on regional integration within SAARC, with Obaed advocating for deeper cooperation among member countries.
