Jaishankar Meets UAE Leaders to Strengthen Economic and Energy Ties
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed and Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed to discuss India's economic and energy relations with the UAE, as well as the welfare of the Indian community there. This visit follows that of Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri to Qatar and occurs during a two-week ceasefire in the Iran-US conflict. The UAE is India's fifth-largest source of fuel, contributing nearly 6% of total crude imports. Jaishankar emphasized the importance of regional stability and security for India, highlighting the interests of the four-million-strong Indian community in his discussions. The talks also addressed the implications of recent regional conflicts on energy infrastructure.
