Indian Embassy Advises Nationals Amid Houthi Tensions in Saudi Arabia
India has advised its nationals in Saudi Arabia to remain calm and vigilant due to an evolving security situation following a deadly attack at Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport on October 10. The attack resulted in the death of Indian national Mohammed Yousef Ali and injuries to several others, including 11 Indians. The Indian Embassy urged citizens to follow local authorities' instructions, stay indoors during potential aerial attacks, and refrain from sharing videos or news about the incidents. Flight operations at the airport have been suspended, impacting several Indian airlines, including Air India and IndiGo, which have cancelled services until October 17. The embassy is monitoring the condition of injured nationals, with four currently in intensive care and others receiving treatment. A 24x7 control room has been established to assist Indian nationals in Saudi Arabia.
