Last Rites Held for 44 Indians Killed in Madinah Bus Accident
The last rites for 44 Indian pilgrims who died in a bus accident in Madinah were conducted on November 22 at Jannat ul Baqi cemetery. A high-level Indian delegation, including Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer and Indian Ambassador Suhel Khan, attended the funeral prayers. The pilgrims were part of a group of 54 from Hyderabad on an Umrah pilgrimage when their bus collided with an oil tanker, resulting in an explosion. Of the 54, 46 were on the bus, with 45 fatalities reported at the scene and only one survivor, Md Abdul Shoaib. The Indian Embassy expressed condolences and gratitude for the support from Saudi authorities during this tragic incident.
