Indian National Sentenced for Conspiracy to Export Aviation Components to Russia

Sanjay Kaushik, 58, from Delhi, has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for conspiring to export controlled aviation components to Russia. The US Department of Justice reported that Kaushik violated the Export Control Reform Act while operating from Portland, Oregon. He was found guilty of unlawfully obtaining aerospace goods, including an Attitude and Heading Reference System, under false pretenses. Kaushik's actions involved coordination with foreign co-conspirators and were aimed at circumventing US export control laws. He was arrested in Miami, Florida, on 17 October 2024, and pleaded guilty on 9 October 2025. In addition to his prison term, he will serve 36 months of supervised release.
