Indian Embassy Advises Nationals in Qatar Amid Regional Security Concerns
The Indian Embassy in Qatar has issued an advisory urging Indian nationals to remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary travel due to escalating security issues in the region. Qatar has experienced drone and missile attacks from Iran following the killing of its Supreme Leader on February 28. The advisory, issued on Friday, highlights that Qatari officials recommend residents stay in safe locations and avoid going out unless absolutely necessary. Qatar has temporarily closed its airspace, stranding many, including approximately 830,000 Indians. To assist, Qatar has extended expired visas by one month and the Indian Embassy is facilitating emergency exits via the Salwa land border to Saudi Arabia for those with valid visas. The Embassy remains available for assistance through its 24x7 helpline.
