Telangana to Benefit from India-UK Trade Agreement Effective July 15, 2026

Telangana is set to gain from the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), which took effect on July 15, 2026. The agreement aims to reduce or eliminate tariffs on various products, enhancing market access and regulatory cooperation. In 2025-26, Telangana's exports to the UK were valued at $402.5 million, primarily in pharmaceuticals, electronics, and chemicals. Tariff eliminations will make Telangana's goods more competitive, with textiles and leather previously facing tariffs of up to 16%. The CETA is expected to encourage MSME participation in global value chains and attract investments into export-oriented manufacturing, while also diversifying the state's export basket. The trade deal aims to double trade between India and the UK, which stood at $56 billion at the time of signing.
