India, UK Target $120 Billion Trade by 2030 Under FTA
India and the UK aim to double bilateral trade to $120 billion by 2030, as stated by commerce ministers during the 16th meeting of the Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) in New Delhi. Current trade stands at approximately $60 billion, including $25.12 billion in goods and $35.44 billion in services. The free trade agreement (FTA), known as the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), came into effect on July 15. The ministers highlighted the need to address trade barriers and enhance business engagement to realise the agreement's potential. A delegation of UK mayors is visiting India to discuss regional partnerships in trade and investment. The next JETCO meeting is scheduled for 2027 in the UK.
