India's Cert-In Detects Cyber Vulnerabilities in Public Sector Companies

India's Computer Emergency Response Team (Cert-In) has initiated a program to identify vulnerabilities in major public sector companies using a newly developed testing platform and open-source AI models. This initiative follows the implementation of sector-specific regulations aimed at addressing cyber risks associated with artificial intelligence. The platform, created over the past six months, is designed to test cyber vulnerabilities in popular systems. According to S. Krishnan from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the open-source models can achieve approximately 60% of the performance of advanced AI systems. The goal is to enhance security measures ahead of the potential widespread availability of advanced AI tools.
