India, Switzerland Enhance Cooperation in Defence and Nuclear Energy
India and Switzerland signed five agreements on migration, mobility, and technology on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Guy Parmelin discussed enhancing cooperation in defence and nuclear energy. The agreements include a migration partnership allowing multiple-entry visas for up to five years and a professional exchange programme for 300 young professionals annually. Modi highlighted the Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) as a framework for $100 billion in investments and one million jobs over 15 years. The two countries aim to deepen collaboration in military exchanges, infrastructure, and research, while also addressing international issues like the conflicts in Ukraine and West Asia. Switzerland is India's largest trading partner in the European Free Trade Association, with two-way trade valued at $25 billion.
