India successfully tests quasi-ballistic missile Pralay off Odisha coast
India conducted a successful flight test of the quasi-ballistic missile Pralay on November 5, 2026, from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island, Odisha. The missile, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has a strike range of 150 to 500 kilometres and a payload capacity of 500 to 1,000 kg. The test met all objectives, confirmed by data from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur. This trial is part of user evaluation and brings the missile closer to induction into the armed forces. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh acknowledged the achievement, stating it enhances India's indigenous defence capabilities. The missile is designed to carry conventional warheads and incorporates advanced guidance systems, reflecting India's focus on developing self-reliant defence technologies.
