India's Economy Expected to Grow 6.4% in 2026, Says UN
India's economy is projected to grow at 6.4% in 2026 and 6.6% in 2027, according to a United Nations report. The report, released by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, indicates that India's growth will be supported by robust consumption and GST rate cuts. In 2025, India's growth is expected to reach 7.4%, although economic activities may moderate due to a 25% decline in exports to the United States following new tariffs. Inflation is projected at 4.4% for this year and 4.3% in 2027. The report also highlights that India attracted USD 50 billion in greenfield foreign direct investment in the first three quarters of the year, leading the Asia-Pacific region.
