Grasim Industries to Acquire Sprng Energy for $1.8 Billion
Grasim Industries announced its unit will purchase Sprng Energy from Shell for $1.8 billion, including debt. This acquisition will increase Aditya Birla Renewables' capacity by 5 gigawatts, raising the group's total renewables portfolio to 9.3 gigawatts. The final equity consideration will be adjusted based on debt and cash. The deal will be financed through a combination of debt, equity from Grasim, and funds managed by Global Infrastructure Partners, a BlackRock unit.
