India Rejects UN Committee's Report on Racial Discrimination Allegations

Updated 3 days ago: The focus shifted from India's dismissal of a UN committee's report on racial discrimination to GIVA Jewellery retracting an advertisement and a Supreme Court judge calling for the replacement of the Rajasthan High Court's Acting Chief Justice, with the mention of India's condemnation of the UN report being a separate development.

GIVA Jewellery has retracted its advertisement featuring actor Kriti Sanon following criticism regarding her attire, which some deemed inappropriate for Indian culture. The decision comes as public backlash intensified, despite Sanon defending her clothing choice. Meanwhile, in Nepal, at least 19 people have died due to flash floods, with 105 Indians reported missing. The floods have caused significant damage to infrastructure in the region. In a separate development, India has condemned a UN report on racial discrimination as politically motivated, asserting its commitment to protecting disadvantaged communities. Additionally, a Supreme Court judge has called for the replacement of the Rajasthan High Court's Acting Chief Justice over allegations of administrative misuse.
