India Secures Maritime Insurance Amid West Asia Conflict

India is coordinating with U.S. authorities to secure maritime insurance from the International Development Finance Corporation. This initiative follows U.S. President Donald Trump's proposal for financial security in energy trade through the Gulf. To mitigate potential fuel supply disruptions due to ongoing conflicts in West Asia, India is also engaging with the International Energy Agency and major oil suppliers. Currently, India consumes 195 million metric standard cubic meters per day of natural gas, with half imported. The country has lost 60 million MMSCMD of supply due to disruptions in Qatar's energy infrastructure. However, officials assure that farmers and consumers will not be adversely affected, and alternative fuel options are being explored.
