India, EU Finalise Horizon Europe Scientific Cooperation Agreement
India and the European Union have concluded negotiations for India's association with Horizon Europe, the EU's €93.5 billion research programme. This agreement will enable Indian organisations to receive funding directly from Horizon Europe and participate in collaborative projects addressing global challenges. The association is expected to be formalised by January 2027, following necessary procedural completions. The collaboration aims to strengthen scientific ties and enhance opportunities for researchers and businesses in both regions. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is anticipated to visit Brussels in mid-December for the signing of the India-EU free trade agreement, which is set to take effect next year after ratification by the European Parliament.
