India, Canada Set $50 Billion Trade Target by 2030
India and Canada have agreed to enhance bilateral ties, targeting $50 billion in trade by 2030, up from approximately $30 billion currently. The agreement was made during discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at the G20 Summit in Johannesburg. The two leaders also expressed intentions to deepen cooperation in technology, defense, and investment. Additionally, Modi held talks with leaders from Italy and Japan, focusing on counter-terrorism initiatives and strategic partnerships in various sectors. The G20 Summit highlighted India’s priorities, including addressing climate concerns and supporting the Global South, with a declaration adopted at the start of the talks.
